3. To wean us away from worldly things and ways
4. To call us to heavenly hope
5. To reveal what is really in our hearts and who we really love
6. To value blessings from God
7. To enable us to encourage and help others
8. To develop enduring strength and for greater usefulness
9. To chasten us and push us toward perfection
We should face trials with:
- A joyous attitude
- An understanding attitude
- A submissive will
- A believing will
- A humble spirit
